CREW & Friends Workshop

During Professor Paul Frijters' visit from October, 1-3, 2017, the first CREW & Friends Workshop took place on October 2nd at the University of Basel. The aim of the workshop was to promote the exchange among active researchers within the field, but also to establish and consolidate interfaces with the research group Political Economy. In particular, junior scientists presented their current research and thus benefited from the expertise of the CREW professors as well as Professor Frijters.

Following the workshop, Professor Frijters presented his research on "Black Lives Matter: The Impact Of Racial Shootings On Black Well-Being" to research seminar participants of the Faculty of Business and Economics.

2nd Basel Workshop on Economics and Happiness

Andrew Oswald presenting at the 2nd Basel Workshop on Economics and Happiness

Research on happiness and economics provides fascinating new insights on human well-being. Issues range from the study of the determinants of reported subjective well-being to tests of the tenets of the traditional economic approach. Recent research has attracted great attention within academia and beyond.

The goal of the workshop was to facilitate exchange on ongoing research between active scholars in the field and interested researchers, in particular doctoral students. Find the program here
