International Political Economy and Energy Policy
Aya Kachi is Associate Professor for International Political Economy and Energy Policy. Her areas of expertise include statistical methodology, political economy, and the quality of public policy-making from citizens’ perspectives. Much of her current research is on policy acceptance risks concerning energy and environmental policies, focusing on voter preferences and special interests. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Illinois (2012), M.A. in Economics from Duke University (2004), and B.A. in Economics from the University of Tokyo (2002). Outside of the University, she currently serves as the Director of the Empirical Methodology Section of the Swiss Political Science Association, a board member of the Faculty of Economics Alumni Association at the University of Tokyo. Between 2017-2020, she served as the Co-Lead of the Energy Governance Work Package in the SCCER-CREST.
