  • 1987 – 1989: Research Assistant of Prof. Silvio Borner, Department of Economics, University of Basel (Switzerland)
  • 1989 – 1991: Research Fellow at the Departement of Economics, University of Basel (Switzerland)
  • 1991 – 1993: Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Simon Fraser University (SFU), Burnaby (Canada); research for two full academic years and teaching for one term (at the end)
  • 1993 – 1996: Senior Research Fellow, Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Basel (Switzerland)
  • 1996 – 1998: Visiting Associate Professor, Department of Economics, University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver (Canada); teaching and research for two full academic years.
