Please check the following rules for writing a Master’s thesis in the area of financial management:

Topics

You can either work on a proposed topic from our list (Topics, date: 02/10/2021) or suggest your own topic. In this latter case, please make sure your topic meets the quality requirements in terms of relevance, theoretical foundation, possible depth and scope of the analysis, methodology, and innovation.

Process

In case you’re interested in one of the topics, you can get in touch with the research associates:

-Reto Forrer (reto.forrer-at-unibas.ch)

-Christoph Winter (christoph.winter-at-unibas.ch)

-Andrea Blum (andrea.blum-at-unibas.ch)

-Christophe Volonté (christophe.volonte-at-unibas.ch)

To suggest your own topic, please get in touch with Dr. Reto Forrer.

Application: Students can submit their research proposal (approx. 2 pages) on one of the four deadlines per year (31.1., 31.3., 30.6., 30.9.) as a pdf to Dr. Reto Forrer. The proposal is supposed to describe the relevance of the topic, the research question(s), the methodology, and the proposed structure in a concise way.

Admission: After submitting by the deadline, students get informed about the acceptance of their proposal within two weeks. In case of a rejection, the proposal can be revised once and handed in again before the next submission deadline.
