
The Summer School is selective and enrollment is limited. First priority is given to students enrolled at the University of Basel, specifically students of business, economics and law as well as students of the interdisciplinary Master's program in European Global Studies. Remaining spots will be given to students of other subjects (and we encourage you to apply). Selection will be based on completion of the recommended prerequisites for a course, general performance, and seniority.
The regular application period for 2026 runs from 16 February to 16 March 2026.

Please fill out this application form and submit the following documents by email to the Summer School administration:
(1) your enrollment confirmation from your home university for the current semester*
(2) copy of your passport*
(3) your current university transcript and/or previous degree certificate
(4) CV.
* Not necessary if you are already enrolled at the University of Basel for the spring semester 2026.
If you are enrolled at an institution (university) that has no exchange program with the University of Basel, please send us an email with the following information:
(1) course(s) you would like to attend
(2) short motivation letter
(3) your enrollment confirmation from your home university for the current semester
(4) your current university transcript and/or previous degree certificate
(5) CV
(6) Copy of your passport.
We will inform you via e-mail by 20 March 2026 whether you have been admitted to your course of choice. Upon receipt of the confirmation, you have 5 days to send an e-mail withdrawing from the course(s).
Early Bird:
Applications submitted by 1 March (23:55) will be handled on a priority basis. We will confirm your course admission by 4 March 2026 by e-mail.
Cancellations received later than 30 April 2026 will be charged the course fee for international students (see also: Terms of Attendance).

Absence without (advance) consent from the administration will receive a “NE (nicht erschienen/no show). The course will be listed in your Transcript of Record (online services) with the grade NE. Additionaly, you will be charged a fee of CHF 500.
International students:
The course fee is not refundable.

University of Basel' students & exchange students:
Due to the generosity of two sponsors there is no course fee. However, course cancellations after 30 April 2026 will be charged CHF 500 for each course. See also Terms of Attendance. All late applications will incur a CHF 100 fee.
International students:
For international students without affiliations to the University of Basel, a CHF 500 course fee applies. You will receive an invoice payable within 30 calendar days. If the invoice is issued within eight weeks of the course start date, the invoice is due upon receipt.
Course fees do not include travel or accommodation costs, insurance, course literature or other costs that may arise prior or during the period of the course(s).
