Promotion of Armando Meier to Associate Professor

Armando Meier

The University Council has promoted Armando Meier to associate professor with retroactive effect from February 1, 2026.

This decision was based on the report prepared by the Evaluation Commission chaired by Prof. Conny Wunsch. The report was based on external expert opinions, which particularly highlighted the scientific quality of Armando Meier's research activities in the field of health economics. The report also emphasized Armandos important contribution to teaching and academic self-administration. His research in health economics bridges the fields of labor, behavioral, and education economics. Specifically, Armando deals with topics such as the economics of pandemic prevention and control, health behavior, mental health, and the role of emotions in decision-making. He uses field experiments, draws on extensive administrative data compiled by himself, and applies methods of causal inference and machine learning.
