Aya Kachi is Associate Professor for International Political Economy and Energy Policy. Her areas of expertise include statistical methodology, political economy, and the quality of public policy-making from citizens’ perspectives. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Illinois (2012), M.A. in Economics from Duke University (2004), and B.A. in Economics from the University of Tokyo (2002).
Outside of the University, she currently serves as the Director of the Empirical Methodology Section of the Swiss Political Science Association, a board member of the Faculty of Economics Alumni Association at the University of Tokyo, and from 2015 to 2020 has held the Co-Lead of the Energy Governance Work Package in the SCCER-CREST (the Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research - Society and Transitions).
Today, she is part of the Research Network Sustainable Futurewhere she contributes with her research in the fields of Energy and Climate.
