Prof. Dr. Alois Stutzer is Professor of Political Economy. He studies the consequences of political institutions on the behavior and well-being of various political actors, most of all the ordinary people. He is also interested in questions from the fields of public economics, law and economics and psychology and economics The research topics are correspondingly broad. Currently, he investigates, for example, the institutional determinants of political selection, the role of media attention on the influence of special interest groups in politics, the consequences of political participation rights on the integration of immigrants, and the ability of individuals to predict their subjective well-being in the future.

In teaching, Prof. Stutzer offers lectures in the field of political economy at all levels. He also teaches a lecture on the economic behavioral model and its psychological extensions.
