The Office of the Dean of Research is responsible for all matters concerning the faculty's research and the promotion of early career researchers. This includes in particular:

• examination of applications to the PhD program,
• recognition of PhD courses and conference presentations,
• supervision of doctoral examinations,
• support for early career researchers,
• research integrity,
• research data management,
• performance measurement and quality assurance of research,
• support with applications for competitive third party funding,
• coordination with regional, national, and international funding programs

The Dean of Research represents the faculty in the university's research committee, the university's PhD committee and is heading the faculty's doctoral board.

The Assistant to the Dean of Research supports the Dean of Research in the operational realization of his business and is the contact person for all questions relating to the doctorate.
