Professional and academic background

Since 2015, lecturer for the courses Equity Markets I and II in the Master of Science in Business and Economics program (spring and fall terms, jointly with Prof. Dr. Reto Francioni). In addition, Peter Weber is involved in various research projects in the field of finance and has been consulted as an academic expert for legal cases in the capital markets area, including proceedings before the Swiss Federal Supreme Court and the Federal Criminal Court.
In addition to his academic activities, Peter Weber is a member of the management board and managing partner at the family office Arpig AG. In this position, he coordinates the various internal and external family office subject matter experts and is responsible for the entire investment strategy across all asset classes as well as the associated M&A deal pipeline and capital market activities. Before joining the management of Arpig AG, Peter Weber gained more than two decades of experience in the financial sector (banking education with subsequent positions on the stock exchange, in investment banking, corporate strategy, project management, and senior positions in corporate banking with a focus on capital markets and M&A). Peter Weber is a member of a number of boards of directors of private stock corporations and an advisor and steering committee member of a listed company.
Peter Weber studied economics at the Universities of Basel, New York (NYU, Stern) and Heidelberg. He completed his doctorate at the Chair of Financial Market Theory of Prof. Dr. Heinz Zimmermann at the University of Basel in combination with the foreign PhD program of New York University, Stern Faculty.
