54066-01 | Kolloquium: Digital Transformation and Work 4.0

This course targets master students who are interested in the progress of today’s technologies and its impact on human resource management and organizational structures. In addition, there should be an interest in discussing and evaluating theoretical models and empirical studies. The course covers the following topics:
- The digital transformation from 1.0 to 4.0
- Workplace organization and job design
- Online platform and crowd working
- Hiring and recruiting
- Workforce structure
- Worker performance
- Worker well-being
We illustrate these topics by using well-known theories and new innovative empirical studies and by focusing on different new technologies and digital applications such as information and communication technologies (ICT), social network applications, specific firm technologies (e.g., people analytics, ERP), robots, artificial intelligence (e.g., deep learning, machine learning), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), cloud computing, Internet memes, online platforms and Blockchain technologies.
