Examinette: How to behave during a written exam
- Find your place. The exams are sorted alphabetically.
- Switch off your cell phone. Electronic devices may not be used during the exam. They must be switched off and must not be left at your seat or kept in a clothes pocket.
- Only take permitted aids to the examination site. Do not bring your own paper either.
- Put away all items that are not relevant to the exam, such as jackets, bags, folders, cell phones, other electronic devices, etc.) so that you cannot reach them during the exam.
- Every type of clock is considered an unauthorized item.
- Place your student ID and an official form of identification (ID, driver's license, passport) on the table for later inspection.
- Sit down at your seat. The exam may not be opened yet,
- Listen to the announcements about the exam procedure.
- Anyone taking a written examination must remain in the examination room until the end of the examination. Leaving the examination room early is not permitted.
- The duration of the examination is noted on the examination cover sheet. The same applies to the permitted aids.
- No other aids may be used. This also applies to calculators, cell phones and other electronic devices!
- Bilingual dictionaries for foreign-language students are generally permitted as aids. These dictionaries may not contain notes.Electronic dictionaries are not permitted.
- The aids will be checked.
- All sheets of paper and the solution sheet must be marked with your name and matriculation number.
- Only solutions that are noted on the official examination sheets or examination paper will be corrected. If MC answer sheets are used, the solutions must be entered on the MC answer sheet.
- Absolute silence must be maintained throughout the examination.
- When the supervisor announces the end of the examination, all students have to stop writing. Anyone who continues to write after the announcement must expect the examination to be graded with the mark of 1.0.
- The exam and the answer sheet will be put together - as instructed by the exam supervisor. You remain seated and quiet until all exams have been collected.
- You may only get up from you seat and/or communicate once all exams have been collected and the exam supervisor has announced to do so.
- Students who do not adhere to these rules must expect their exam to be graded 1.0 (see point 4.)
The study regulations for both Bachelor's and Master's degree programs provide for the following consequences:
"Dishonest exmination practice
ยง 23 Should a candidate use dishonest means to influences or attempt to influence an assessment result or exhibit dishonest behavior in the case of written papers, considered in particular by unauthorized use of materieal by claiming authorship, the examination or assessment in question will count as fail and/or will be assessed with a grade of 1.0. The examination committee can declare exclusion from the course of studies at the Faculty of Business and Economics. The exclusion is mandated by the faculty."
