Proper behavior and procedure of examinations

1. Before the start of the examination:

  • Find your seat. The exams are in alphabetical order.
  • Turn off your cell phone. Electronic devices are not to be used. They must be switched off and must not be left in the seat.
  • Do not bring your own paper and only explicitly permitted aids to your seat.
  • Place all non-examination-related items such as jackets, bags, folders, mobile phones, electronic devices, etc.) at the side doors of the lecture hall and not under the table, on the neighbouring chair, etc.!
  • Place your Legi (student ID) openly on the table for later inspection.
  • Sit down at your seat. Do not open the exam sheets yet. Listen to the announcements on the examination procedure.

2. About the examination:

  • Once you start a written exam, you must remain in the examination rooms until the end of the exam. Leaving the examination rooms early is not permitted.
  • The duration of the examination is noted on the examination cover sheet. The same applies to the permitted aids.
  • No other aids may be used - this also applies to calculators, mobile phones and other electronic devices!
  • In general, bilingual dictionaries are permitted as aids for foreign-language students. Electronic dictionaries are not allowed.
  • The aids will be checked.
  • All paper sheets and the solution sheet must be marked with your name and matriculation number.
  • Only solutions on official exam sheets or sheets of the examination will be corrected. If Multiple Choisce (MC) answer sheets are used, the solutions must be written on the answer sheet.
  • Absolute silence must be maintained throughout the written examination.

3. End of the examination/announcement:

  • When the invigilator announces the end of the examination, ALL students stop writing at once. Those who continue to write risk receiving a grade of 1.0.
  • The solution and examination sheets will be placed in the name sheet and passed on with all papers as requested by the exam invigilator. If you are sitting in the middle of the row, remain seated and pass the examination when the exam invigilator asks you to do so.
  • You may not stand up and communicate with each other until all examinations have been collected and the invigilator has given the signal to do so.
  • Students who do not comply with these rules must expect that the exam will be graded 1.0 (see point 4).

4. Consequences of non-compliance with the rules:

§ 23 of the study regulations for the Bachelor's and Master's program:

"Should a candidate use dishonest means to influence or attempt to influence an assessment result [...], the examination [...] in question will count as a fail and / or will be assessed with a grade of 1.0. The examination committee can declare exclusion from te coure of studies at the Faculty of Business and Economics. The exclusion is mandated by the faculty."
