The research of the Chair for Performance Management primarily focuses on the analysis of efficiency and effectiveness of organizational units and complex systems in the profit and non-profit sector. Due to the chair-holders professional and academic background, our research is highly interdisciplinary and multi-methodological: We analyze performance and its key drivers in companies (profit-sector) and in higher education (non-profit sector) based on classical approaches from economics. Our investigations are based on several statistical and econometric estimation techniques like regression analyses and stochastic frontier analysis as a method of parametric efficiency analysis. We also apply non-parametric techniques, such as Data Envelopment Analysis, as well as methodological approaches and algorithms from operations research based on linear and dynamic programming. Furthermore, we study the performance and behaviour of complex systems and use tools referring to cybernetics and system dynamics for modelling and simulating purposes.

Currently, we do not offer any bachelor or master level lectures and/or seminars. However, we plan to hold courses in future semesters.
